So what this means is that you may be able to get a current resize app by purchasing an older ON1 package if you can find it. I was like the user above who only used ON1 for the resize. I know, I asked tech support and they replied that other things were updated, but not resize. What that means is if you buy the suite or a standalone and it is upgraded, that might be within the on1 raw module (only) which would mean you would eventually need to purchase ON1 RAW.īut also know this important fact - and I don't know if this will apply to future raw updates: the ON1 resize module has been unchanged (algorithm not updated) in the last few suite updates. But also understand that it appears ON1 will be ending the suite of separate apps and rolling everything into the one RAW module. The jury is still out on the Raw conversion section, its quality and speed of workflow, but for an extra $20 it seems like a reasonable gamble - especially if you don't have Photoshop, because the Layers and Resize apps are quite good. 19, you can buy the entire suite of apps, which includes Resize, for $100. ![]() It seems illogical to buy Resize alone for $80 when today and tomorrow, preceding the release of the Raw Develop app on Dec. It was pretty stunning viewed on screen at 100% on a 100 PPI screen, well the little bit of the image you could see, since it would have been around 294 MP. It did look very good when printed, but I doubt that the process used more than about 100 PPI, and possibly less. I got told the print house said it had to be 300 PPI, so I gave the customer what they wanted. Personally I have always found that PS's various bicubic interpolation methods have produced perfectly good enlargements, including on one occasion taking a 6MP 300D image up to six feet wide at 300 PPI, a linear 7× enlargement. So you may only need 25 PPI for the big print at 144", rather than the 300 PPI you might need when viewing from 12". For an image to be printed 144× larger, by area, in this situation you would expect it to be viewed from a similarly further distance, probably the same conversion from inches to feet, so 12× further away, so the same total number of pixels should produce a visually similar result. One thing to remember is that for very large photos the viewer is usually not nearly as close to the image as they would be for a 10"×8" or even a 16"×12", where having 300PPI is to be recommended. Most of my files are standard LARGE as came from a 5D Mk ii, etc., that typically seemed to produce nice quality 20 x 30 prints, but which I never tried larger in any fashion. They emailed and asked if I had any redwood photos they could borrow, and they wanted to make some kind of mural that would be like 10 feet wide and 8 feet tall. One possible use that comes to mind - someone was building a very nice Star Wars speeder like from Endor, to display in an event where they would were a storm trooper suit. The kind of photo that you may print for fine art, and maybe make larger for one of whatever purposes. Has anybody used it for a nice photo from a full frame camera and had good results. When looked at the website, the one called Resize 10.5 seemed the most interesting if it happens to work good. The utility offers support for batch processing, which means you can add multiple files to the list and process them at the same time.Tonight was the first time I ever heard about any ON1 software and looked at a few youtube videos. ![]() iOS Devices, Web & Email, Epson Canvas), lets you create a list with favorite ones, select the resolution, as well as apply special effects (sharpening, film grain).
